Four Centuries, Where We At?

Four CenturiesWow, done.

I can safely say this is the fastest I’ve ever pounded out a novel. I’m not sure what that means. Hopefully that’s a good omen. 100K words, on the nose. Act III was a blur. It felt fast paced, which I hope it reads that way as well. Very, very fun to write, considering I’ve been “scared” to tackle a Victoria novel. The series has revolved around her for a good chunk, even when she’s not front and center. I’m hoping people enjoy the novel. As is tradition, I’ll wait a week or so and then go about editing. Then after that the ever-so-famous beta reading.

Random thoughts:

I may have to change the “hook” text a bit. I wouldn’t describe what happens in the novel as a “plague”, so I may reword that. This novel, strangely enough, is the first novel I’ve ever written with so little romance in it. I wonder how audiences will take that?

Zoey turned out to have a larger role in the story than I thought, which I think is good in the end. One of the things I like writing about Victoria is her interactions with others. She’s older, wiser, and has a different perspective on everything. Watching a four-hundred-year-old vampire interact with an eighteen-year-old “newborn” was fun.
