No, I thought it was really interesting, and had no problems following it. This is definitely a new twist on the ‘what happens after….’ and I can’t wait to see where this goes!!!

This one was a challenge, as I wanted to capture attention, introduce the main character, and the new world as well. I can see it perfectly in my head, but translating that to words isn’t always easy.
You have done well, grasshopper. EX-cellent. Cannot wait. Good beginning. I expect I will have a new favorite after reading this one. Well…maybe second favorite. After all, Witch to live with Victoria in it, and anything else is always going to be my number one. But, Yeah, this one shapes up to be a must read for me. Do you have an arbitrary target date yet? don’t rush it by any means. Just let it marinate. Luck!

I think it’s gonna turn out pretty well. I’m already digging the interaction the characters in this novel have.
No date yet I’m afraid. I’m only 13K words into it, and with power outages and fun stuff here on the east coast, I’ve gotten very little work in it lately.
Fantastic! I honestly don’t know what to do with my life until this book comes out.
Argh. I have a serious love/hate relationship with samples like this. When it’s a good sample, like this one, it makes me go buy the book right away to read it. When it’s not out yet, it makes me go, AWEOSME, I’m totally buying that, and then annoyed because it’s not available.
Good work as usual; I’ll pick it up as soon as it’s available.

Of course, didn’t mean to annoy you, but I can understand why.
I don’t usually put out samples this early for the same reasons you mention. I don’t want to get people’s hopes up on a release date, or even have them forget completely about the sample by the time the novel comes out. But in this case I wanted some early feedback. The first few chapters are oh so important. I’m trying to create a world where the living coexist with souls, and there’s quite a few important details that go into that, things like natural reincarnation, soul insurance and resurrection, what a soul looks like, etc. I didn’t want to get 50K words into it and have a beta reader say “I have no idea of what you’re talking about.”
So if you liked the sample and could follow it, I guess I did okay.
I wasn’t sure about Jack Kursed when I read the synopsis; I’ve already read it several times since it was published because I loved it so much. I have a feeling that this book will be the same way!! This sample was enough to truly peak my interest and put on calendar for a future purchase. Although I have to say that I think Alex will always be my favorite character and I look forward to reading more stories about him as well as new characters you create. Keep up the excellent work!!!!!

I’m probably less than 10K words in finishing it up. So close. I just have to hunker down and finish it. Then comes the proofreading, editing, etc., but I can finally see the light on this one.
