Off and on for a few months, I’ve been trying to come up with a series title for the novels that are set in the same universe (Demonspawn, A Witch To Live, Jack Kursed, Demon’s Doorway). And…I’ve got nothing. :) It hasn’t really been an issue for the most part, but Demon’s Doorway is nearly complete, and I need to have a series title associated with it. It’s preventing me from getting the cover done, and it would definitely be nice to have that in place when more ideas come up.

I like how the series has turned out, but I can’t just use the title of the first book (A Demonspawn Novel), as it gives the wrong impression. Can’t have someone reading a Jack book, but expecting Alex.

So, it was suggested in one of our comment threads to hold a contest. Doesn’t sound like a bad idea at all. I’m looking for series title ideas. Send them along however you’d like, through the comments, or through the contact form. The winner will get a printed copy of all the works I’ve got out so far (Demonspawn, A Witch To Live, Jack Kursed, Mind Slide, Dead Living), plus the two upcoming works (Soul Insurance, Demon’s Doorway).

Thanks ahead of time, guys. :)

  1. Tommy says:

    A Mystic Spellbound Novel

  2. G. Alan Graham says:

A number of possible wordplays come to mind: The Unicurse Dimension, Hell’s Broom Closet (or Backroom Tales,) Dark Limbo Legends or simply- Cursed Universe Series. Since writing is always creating an alternate reality, be it familiar or bizarre, with the writer assuming the role of creator, how about: Alternating Realities Inc.

    Series suggestion:
    “Rise of the Variants”

  4. Dominque says:

What is the book about? You said it’s a Jack book? What about Kursed Doorway. I would automatically think of Jack.

    • Glenn Bullion says:

Oh, nah, it’s not a Jack book. :) It actually has everyone in it. I was just using that as a possible example down the road. I need to have a series title that could encompass everything (so A Demonspawn Novel wouldn’t really work).

  5. Sam G says:

Something like “Living Legend Series” maybe.

  6. Jorge C says:

    “Hidden Darkness”

  7. Ashur H. says:

I’d say it’d have to be “Souls of Shadow” I think that fits perfectly.

How long is the contest going to be open for suggestions? Are we limited on the number we can make?

    Thanks!

    • Glenn Bullion says:

How long: Until I pick a title :) And some solid ones have come up.

Limit: None at all :) You got 50 ideas, send them on over.

Well you might want to do something that goes along with Victoria since she is in every book of the series and always “befriends” the main character. Also just because the titles I am going to deliver doesn’t mean the Victoria idea has no merit. “Vampire Guide” “Victoria’s Friends” “Adventure of the Modern Vampire” “Modern Supernaturals” and so on.

  10. Dave says:

    “A Foundlings novel”.

They’re pretty much all orphans/foundlings, and Victoria their ‘den mother’. Especially since she’s their representative with/to Bradley (or at least I get that impression). This also works for her and Jack (or at least Jack’s new charge), as they are ‘foundlings’ themselves of a sort, considering their age, and their involvement in the organization.

I’ve been trying to keep my thoughts along the lines of “beginnings” so Rise or Dawn are being used so that you could have a series of that and then a different series later that is beyond that. Hence my first suggestion -> “Rise of the Variants”.

I have another that came to mind this morning: “Dawn of the Catalysts”. Of course, you could switch them around and have “Rise of the Catalysts” or “Dawn of the Variants” too. ;-)

Hopefully, all of our brain storming is being helpful! :-D

We might find inspiration if we had a better idea of what you will be doing with the Fantastic Four after Demon’s Doorway.

    Yes, I am fishing :)

    • Glenn Bullion says:

Ha. :) I probably shouldn’t get too far ahead of myself. I should wait until I see how Demon’s Doorway is received, and that’s a way off yet (on the last chapter now, plus beta, cover, etc.).

However…. :) I do have a few ideas of where I want to go, with one seemingly better than the others. I have a Jack/Kevin idea in mind, with also a new character for that novel. It would be the first one without Victoria, which would definitely be different.

  13. Geoff says:

How about the Denizens Chronicles or similar?

  14. Ronald Smith says:

Victoria’s Secret. Just for fun as she’s been in all the books so far.

  15. Ronald Smith says:

The Hidden as in “Hidden in Plain Sight.”

  16. Thomas Smith says:

I vote for Victoria’s Coven. Since she is in all the books and coven would cover witches and vampires.

  17. Robert Peters says:

How about a Unique Souls Novel or Companions of the Nocturnus ? Really enjoy your work. Good luck finding a title.

  18. David says:

    Garden variety unusuals
    Prosaic Fantastics
    Quaint Extraordinaries

  19. Kim Hennessy says:

How about Cursed Crusaders Series. They all seem to be crusaders of justice.

  20. Hi there! Love your books, I came up with a few ideas. Take ‘em or leave ‘em.

    Book Titles
    Devil in the Details
    Hell Has No Fury
    To Hell and Gone
    Here There Be Monsters
    Unusual Suspects
    Devil Be Damned
    Leviathans Unbound

I could go with the whole classic rock angle on some of these titles, but you don’t really mention in the books what kind of music your characters like. *hint-hint*

Book Series Ideas (In no particular order of favoritism)
    Darkling Conspiracies
    Dark Origins Society/Series
    Orphans of the Damned Society/Series
    Dark Foundations Series
    The Eidolon Mysteries

Good luck, and I hope these help.
